UCC14240-Q1: spice model

Part Number: UCC14240-Q1

Does this device support spice model?

regards

Brian

  • Hi Brian,

UCC14240-Q1 is still in APL (Advanced Product Launch) stage and the simulation model is still in development but will be ready when UCC14240-Q1 is released to manufacturing (RTM). Based on overall customer feedback of the most widely used simulation tools, we are initially focusing our model development on SIMPLIS/SIMetrix with the possibility of following up with PSPICE model development. Can you help me understand how you are using simulation as part of your product development and would the SIMPLIS model be of use for your needs? Are you using simulation as part of device qualification, validation, general understanding of functionality, etc?

    Regards,

    Steve M

  • Thanks.

Customer is using SIMPLIS model for gate driver bias power in the motor driver. When is the SIMPLIS model available? thanks.

    Regards

  • Brian,

The UCC14240-Q1 Simplis model is planned to be customer ready by end of June 2022 timeframe.

  • UCC14240-Q1 we are considering this product for one of our EV application. Need spice file functional simulation, also if it is encrypted then we need model for Ansys Nexxim and simplorer  for emi emc simulation. untill we simulate it we cant go ahead as part selection. please provide models ASAP.

  • Hi Pratik

I believe the answer to the request for a PSPICE model has already been given earlier in this thread. The UCC14240-Q1 development team recognizes the need for a supporting PSPICE model and it is included in our plan to develop this after the SIMPLIS/SIMetrix model is released. In your case, it seems you are asking for additional model support for Ansys Nexxim and Simplorer but we currently do not have plans to develop these specific models. When the PSPICE model is released (answer at the top of this thread), the unencrypted model may be available to certain customers under NDA agreement with TI.

Also, it seems that Ansys Nexxim can import SPICE models according to the online forum/help here and I imagine the same may be true for Simplorer, although I am not familiar with these sim tools?

    Regards,

    Steve M

  • Thank you steve for the feesback, model for ansy nexxim and simplorer is needed in case if spice model is encrypted. ansys can not import encrypted spice models, if you can provide un-encrypted spice model , then it can be imported to ansys nexxim and simplorer.

Also decision to select part has dependency on simulations, please let us know if you can help

  • Pratick,

The quickest path for UCC14240-Q1 sim validation is going to be SIMPLIS/SIMetrix. The UCC14240-Q1 SIMPLIS model is close to finished and should be available around mid-June 2022 time frame.

    Regards,

    Steve

  • Thank you for the update Steve, we dont have Simplis to run simulation also we cant import simplis/simetrix model in ansys. I understand its under development. we will wait untill you devlope the model or for now we can consider different product in development.
