LMG3422R030: Bilateral switch using GaN

Part Number: LMG3422R030

Hi,

I need to built a bilateral switch, blocking 500V. When switch is on, current flow should be possible in both directions with low loss and when switch is off current should be blocked. The polarity of the voltage could be both, pos and neg.

I currently use two SiC MOSFets backtoback but I get lot of ringing. I have to use a snubber but this wastes lot of energy.

Is there any chance to use GaN instead?

I use GaN in the primary side circuit, driving an transformer and it is just perfect. Without a snubber overshoot/ringing is less than 1%, only some HF is detected, 44MHz at 100kHz switching, so the snubber is no problem. it is the first time I am using GaN and I am a fan now.

Thanks a lot for helping out.

With best regards

Gerhard
