TPSM82821A: Safe operating area

Part Number: TPSM82821A

Hi team,

We are considering TPSM82821A but got a concern.

Figure 9-41 in D/S, this graph uses RθJA=64.3W/C which is the value for EVM.

But I am wondering how it will be if it uses RθJA=92.6 W/C which is the value for uSiL.

Do you have the "Safe operating area" data which is using 92.6W/C RθJA?

It will be really helpful our development.

Best regards,

Yuto

  • Hi Yuto,

Safe Operating Area graphs are plotted with RθJA of the EVM. The JEDEC boards are not suitable for the purpose and we cannot perform such tests on the JEDEC boards. When the device is not operable, then it makes no sense to plot with the RθJA of the JEDEC Board. Nevertheless, if you still want those plots, I will discuss with my team. Could you elaborate on how it will be useful for your development? Can you explain a bit on the use-case?
