BQ24133: 2-cell unremovable battery configuration

Hi,

Going through the datasheet, we came across the below system example.

Can we use the following circuit with 2-cell..?

Also what happens if the cell is removed and the adapter is powered ON in this configuration....?

    Hi,

       Are you only charging battery, or are you also trying to power an external system load? Yes, you could use that design for a 2 cell application. This design just shows that you can remove a PFET, and leave BATDRV floating, if you do not need direct power path architecture.

    Keep in mind, adapter should be rated to be able to provide charge for 2 cell battery (VBUS>VBAT)
