TPS62811-Q1: sch review

Part Number: TPS62811-Q1

Hi Expert,

Could you please kindly help to review the schematic for customer?

Additional, I have one question regarding to the inductor value. In customer's use-case, the max output current for TPS62811-Q1 is about 0.5A. You can find the working conditions as below. According to the formula, the calculated inductor value is about 2.58uH under customer use-case. But based on the recommended inductor value in datasheet(0.32uH~0.9uH), the calculated value is much higher than the maximum. So question is which value we should choose? Customer would like to make sure the output ripple minimalization. Does the inductor value must under the recommended range in datasheet?

Working condition:

VIN=3.3V

VOUT=1.2V, Iout(max)=0.5A

Fsw=1.97MHZ

Thanks!

  • Hi Ethan,

    Thanks for your question.

    I would recommend to choose an inductor value inside the Recommended Operating Conditions.

    The IC has been designed and tested for these values. If you used a much larger inductor (as 2.2uH), it would significantly change the inductor current slope.

    This could lead to possible stability or performance problems.

    Apart from the inductor, the schematic looks fine.

    Thanks,

    Stefano
