Hi,

For BMS design how to calculate cell balancing parameters like resistance , current of MOSFET (SQ2310ES-T1_GE3) in BQ76840 AFE.

I want know to calculation part.

    Hey Sanjeev,

    If you use internal cell balancing, the BQ76940 balances at 5mA per cell.

    If you decide to use external cell balancing, your cell balancing resistance would be the sum of Rbal, and the Rds(on) of your external balancing MOSFET. Please make sure that Rbal has the correct power rating for your application.

    Furthermore, you can take a look at this app note regarding cell balancing for the BQ769x2 family. A lot of common ground is shared between the BQ76940 and the BQ769x2 in regards to cell balancing.
