Hello!

Can the maximum output current of LM5118 be 15A?

The maximum output current given in the specification is 10a, and MOSFET and diode are external. Why is there a limit of 10A?

Hi Robert,

thank you for using the E2E forum.

This 10A in the overview page is a typical number. This is not limited by the device but more by the application itself, Boost factor, so selected and available FET and Diodes, and so on.

So based on that it can also go higher and also an output of 15A with the right selection of device should be possible but also requires the losses to calculated in detail.
