UCC256301: overtemperature

Part Number: UCC256301
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC256402

Hi Team,

My customer is using UCC25630-1DDBR as the controller of an LLC converter they designed. Although the outputs of the converter are as expected, the temperature of UCC25630-1DDBR goes high rapidly and then need to stop the converter after about one minute when the temperature of IC reaches around 105C in room temperature. The LLC converter converts 400V (340 to 450V) to 24V, and uses UCC256301 as its controller. They also have an EVM converting 400V to 12V. They measured temperature of the IC on both boards with and without load and its temperature keeps going up and once it reaches 105C after less than one minute, then they stop the test.

Is this expected/common? Please let me know if you need more information.

I saw some other e2e posts about the HV pin and modifying the SS, would this be the next step here too?

Thank you,
Delaney
