LMR33630: LMR33630 input capacitor

Part Number: LMR33630

Hi Sir

current out about 1.5A

As Cin,Can I use  Tantalum capacitors to replace Electrolytic capacitor?

because the life cycle.thanks

  • Hello

The 10uF and 220nF capacitor must be ceramic.  Ceramic capacitors provide the low ESR and ESL required to

achieve a low impedance path for the fast input currents of the buck regulator.

In this case you can use 4.7uF.  However, the actual capacitance under D.C. bias should not fall below 3uF.

If you are using the RNX package, you can put 1x 4.7uF on either side of the device and 1x100nF on either side of the device.

You don't need a tantalum or aluminium capacitor on the input, unless you have an input EMI filter or other large inductance in series with

    the regulator input.

Please see the data sheet for more information.

    Thanks
