TPS23755: Design review about TPS23755

Hi Sir,

 My customer use TPS23755 in their IPCAM design. They finished their design and shipped products to end customer already. But There're high rate field returned from end customer in bus cam application. Would you please helping to check what they have to pay attention for their design. Thanks for your kindly help.

Failed condition: 

1. no 12V output

2. VB no 5V output, max 3V on failed devices.

3. no short found on pin 13/14/21/24

4. pin 21 (VCC) is 5.6V

5. If provide correct power on pin 6/21, D12V has correct output.

    The customer does not have the required Vb diode in the schematic. This is in the datasheet and on the EVM. Please add this diode. Thank you!

     Thanks for your response. We'll ask customer to add that.

     BTW, my customer measure VB pin impedance and see 28k ohm (OK device) and 24K (NG device). Is that means there's damage at internal regulator?

  • Hey Gary, 

    We normally do not measure impedance of pins because the system will have a variety of paths to ground that change system to system. 

    Try applying power again to see if Vb is damaged.
