PTD08D210W: -

Part Number: PTD08D210W

Hi,

I am using PTD08D210W with UCD9248PFC. I am not able to understand the pin descriptions of PWMA, SRE & FF. Can you give me a detailed description and the  function of the pins?

Thankyou!

  • Hello Jeevan,

PWMA and PWMB are input pins of the PTD side connecting to PWM output pins at the UCD side.
These pins are the duty cycle signals for pulse width modulation.

SRE-A and SRE-B are also input at the PTD side, when the controller (UCD) holds this pins high, then the Synchronous rectifier FETs are active.
Otherwise (when these pins are kept low), the low side FETs are not operating.

The FF-A and FF-B pins are output at the PTD side and inputs at the UCD side, these pins go high if an over current limit is crossed and inform the controller/UCD of an over current fault.

    Hope this makes sense.

  • Hi Yitzhak,

Thankyou for taking time to reply,

Can you please let me know on when the SRE should be active and what change does it make?

  • Hi Jeevan,

SRE should be active most of the time (during normal operation) in order for the efficiency to be kept high/optimal.
Only at the time of of soft start into pre-bias or other specific cases, the UCD may deactivate the SRE.
Deactivation of SRE prevents sinking current from the pre-bias voltage.

    Hope this addresses your question.

    Regards,

    Yitzhak
