BOOST-PSEMTHR-007: 10Gbps PoE PSE Injector

Part Number: BOOST-PSEMTHR-007

Dear All,

on BOOST-PSEMTHR-007 the MDCT pins are no connect why is that so? don't they need decoupling caps? ( Pin 12,6,1,7)

I have a similar setup because i'm designing PSE injector, what is the right way , leave them floating or decouple them ( to what reference point) ?

Another question, if there is no PHY on PSE injector do the data lanes on data side and on POE side need ESD protection ?

Best Regards,

David.

  • David,

We have used this board with a PD board and the LLDP communication through PHY worked well. But I am not the expert on the data side. Please check with your PHY vendor or data transformer vendor on this. Our board is only designed to evaluate PoE functionalities. It is still recommended to do ESD protection on the port as the data transformer may get damaged by ESD. Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Penny
