Hi Team,

My customer is looking for isolated DCDC to power MSP430FR2676.

The input of DCDC is 5V or 12V and from MSP430FR2676 datasheet it needs 3.3V voltage and 3.75mA(MAX) current.

I see UCC12051-Q1 may work here for 5V input, what do you think? Q1 part is not necessary.

And if there's any device for 12V input please also kindly let me know.

Customer is going to use iso DCDC for fundamental evaluation of MSP430FR2676.

Hello,

Isolated integrated power module doesn't support 12Vin and 3.3V output.

Hi Sean,

I saw following in UCC12051-Q1 datasheet, I thought it can support 3.3V output when shorts SEL pin to GNDS pin. Is my understanding wrong?

Could you help advise other device that supports 5Vin or 12Vin and 3.3Vout? Thanks.

Jo,

You can support 5V to 3.3V with UCC12051-Q1 as you already know. You mentioned that you did not need the auto (Q1) version so please be aware that TI also offers an industrial version in UCC12050 (5kV isolation) and UCC12040 (3kV isolation). All versions are p2p drop in compatible.

TI currently does not have a single device that can support both 5V and 12V input but we do have other options for 12V only input. Please email me directly if this of interest to you.

I would like to use reinforced isolation low-EMI devices in my research project but such devices are "Out of stock". Any suggestion on how to proceed?

Following your suggestion, I requested samples for the ISOW7840F, UCC12051-Q1 and TPSM5601R5H. This was the reply which is very frustrating. At least people working in TI should know these ICs are all out of stock...

I agree with you and to help overcome the frustrations you are facing from limited/no supply stock, I suggested you should contact your local TI Technical Sales Rep (TSR) or FAE. The TSR/FAE will have direct contact into the specific product lines and business units where we can sometimes provide samples not available through the TI store or distributor channels.
