TLVM13620: RC snubber to the SW pin

Part Number: TLVM13620
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62160

Hi support team,

Is it prohibited to connect an RC snubber to the SW pin of TLVM136x0 and TPSM6360x?

There is the following description.

  • Hi Dice:

The SW pin is prohibited to connect RC snubber, because the type of this pin is output.

  • Hi Colin,
    Thank you for your reply.

Please let me know why we must not connect an RC snubber to the output type?
For example, SW seems to be an output type in the data sheet of TPS62160, but I thought that RC snubber could be connected.

  • Hi Dice-K,

We can see that for the data sheet of  TLVM136x0, inductor has been integrated inside and the power output is VOUT pin. The type of SW pin is same as PG pin or VCC pin which function is to display voltage waveform, so it is prohibited to connect RC snubber.

For the data sheet of TPS62160,the SW pin is power output, so I agree your opinion about  that RC snubber could be connected.

  • Hi Colin,
    Thank you for your answer.

    I have understood as follows.
The reason is that the SW pin of TLVM136x0 and TPSM6360x are dedicated to observing switching voltage waveform, not the power output pin.

    Best regards,
