REF6025: SS Pin Connection for Maximum Current

Part Number: REF6025

Hi,

I'm looking to use the REF6025 and was looking at the SS pin to maximize the current.

  1. On the pin configuration and functions section it says "Connect to Vin pin for highest current limit", is this a short connecting SS to Vin with no resistor in between?
  2. On section 7.5 Electrical Characteristics it says short circuit current SS = open; 10.5 mA.
    1. Do we need to leave the pin unconnected/open or do we connect it to VIN?
    2. What configuration maximizes the current?
  3. Looking at the equations on 9.3.3 it looks like the higher resistance the higher current limit, this leads me to believe that open would be better than connecting it to VIN.

Also looking at the pin configuration and function section its a little confusing on what to connect the SS pin to. It says connect it to a resistor but what is the other side of the resistor connected too? I see on the references, shown in the datasheet, it is usually ground but the only other mention is the VIN pin, not ground. My initial thought was connecting the resistor from SS to VIN, but I think its supposed to be connecting the resistor from SS to GND looking at the references.

Regards,

Luke
