TPS3431: function chck

Part Number: TPS3431

I have some questions would like to confirm with you.

1. Does the deice issue WD signal out (WDO_N) to MCU through GPIO pin?

2. Additionally, could you help explain ENOUT function ?

The spec shows that ENOUT could connect with WDO_N (OR gate), so ENOUT is just for indication of WDO_N status (?)

  • Hello Jim,

The WDO_N signal can be connected to MCU through GPIO. The datasheet shows connection to NMI as most applications use connection to NMI for quick response to any WD error.

ENOUT is an indication for the device Enable/Disable status. This does not indicate WDO_N status.

ENOUT and WDO_N are open drain outputs. If host MCU does not have two independent input pins to monitor ENOUT and WDO_N signals, you can short them together and connect to one MCU interrupt/GPIO. Thus any WDO_N error or WD disabled status can be communicated to host MCU.

    Thanks and Regards,
