CSD16301Q2: BQ29706-Q1 and nFET recommendation

Hi Team,

I noticed that the CSD16301Q2 is used with the BQ2970x evaluation board, would this part also support the BQ29706-Q1? Would this be the best recommendation?

Also is there an automotive qualified nFET that would work?

Please see below for the battery specs, is there a recommended FET with this Rdson requirement?

Hello Delaney,

Thanks for the inquiry. The CSD16301Q2 is an older, higher cost FET. Our recommended replacement is the CSD17318Q2, 30V FET in the same package and footprint with lower on resistance and is more cost effective. None of TI's FETs are automotive qualified.

Hi Delaney,

The CSD17318Q2 meets the requirements. The resistance of the FET determines its conduction loss. The CSD17318Q2 will dissipate ~340mW at 4A & Tj = 75°C. Feel free to run this by the BMS team if you'd like.
