GUI Composer Runtime vs GUI Composer Web Version ????

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-1000

Hello,

I am following the design guide for the TIDM-1000. The first step after installing CCS is to install the GUI Composer Runtime. When I follow the steps to do that, I don't see anything that I can "install" called GUI Composer Runtime. I only see something called GUI Composer v2 which redirects me to the TI website and what appears to be a web-based version of the GUI Composer.

(1) I assume that the design guide was written in a past time when GUI Composer Runtime was an actual application that you installed on your machine?

(2) Is this web-based GUI Composer v2 equivalent to GUI Composer Runtime?

(3) I am only on step 4 of a million-step instruction. Am I gonna run into issues following this design guide later because I am trying to use the web-based version instead of a locally installed GUI Composer Runtime?

(4) Is there a way to get a hold of the old install for GUI Composer Runtime?

Thank you.

Kevin

  • Hello Kevin,

The GC Runtime is required to run standalone GC apps on your local PC. There is a runtime for GC v1 and v2.

Can you provide a link to the document you are following?

    Thanks

  • I got it figured out. You have click the "See More" button in the upper right corner of the App Center to see all of the available Add-ons. Once I clicked the "See more" button, I found GUI Runtime Composer that you install onto your local machine.
