Hi,

Please let us know in case we will introduce these devices to our customers.
About the package.
Package of TLVM13620 / 30 are 30pin, but TLVM13640 / 60 are 20pin.
Why does a device with a higher maximum output current have fewer pins?

Hi Nishie,

Yes, the packages are different for the 2-3A and 4-6A parts based on the selection of integrated inductor to achieve the required current rating and thermal performance. Note we also have the TPSM63602/3/4/6 module family, which is similar to the TLVM13620/30/40/60 but offers additional features, such as Vout higher than 6V, SYNC, etc. Both families have a downloadable quickstart calculator to assist with component selection.

What I think is, the higher the maximum output current value and the better the heat dissipation performance, the more pins there are.
Why was it possible to reduce the number of pins on the TLVM13640 / 60?
Is it because the package size is large?

The TLVM136x0 is also significantly reasonable than the TPSM6360x.
Is it the price difference due to the difference like the thread below?

Does the cost reduction of internal parts also apply to this reason?

Hi Nishie, the heat is mostly through the DAP pad, not the pins. What is your current requirement? I recommend choosing the module accordingly as both designs offer good thermal performance. The TLVM is the value series, hence the lower cost.

Thanks for promoting this family of modules, both the TPSM and TLVM. In addition to 16V output capability and clock synchronization, note the TPSM63604/6 modules also have functional safety documentation (see product folder).
