LM36010: Purpose of IR mode

Part Number: LM36010

Hi team,

My customer is not clear with the name "IR mode".

Do the customer have to use the IR mode when lighting a IR LED?

Or is it only a mode that is recommended for IR LED usage?

In addition,

I guess that LM36010's torch mode is analog dimming.

This is just my interest, but can customer use IR mode for PWM dimming when using a non-IR LED (normal LED)?

Regards,

Ohashi

  • Hi Ryoma-san, thx for reaching us. Could you provide some customer and project information about this case,

For you question, the datasheet has a very detail desiccation about the difference among 3 mode, pls let me know which point make customer confuse and how customer use our LM36010.

  • Hi Frank Qiu-san,

Thanks for the reply and providing the datasheet info.

My customer is going to use the IR LED for a thermal sensing terminal.(Just imagine a thermal camera if you are unfamiliar with it).

Sorry that I don't have much info about how they use LM36010 for IR LEDs. Whether they light the IR LED with PWM or not.

But I guess that they were confused with the name 'IR mode'. Beacuse it looks like that they can't use Flash mode or Torch mode for lighting a IR LED.

Can they use IR LED with Flash mode or Torch mode?

  • I think it's based on LED spec.
