BQ2970: Please verify the schematics

Part Number: BQ2970
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25303J

Hallo Team,

I am using BQ25303J and BQ29700 as my charger and protection solution for a 3,7 V LiPo battery application.

My application specifications are as follows: 3.7V LiPo battery is used to power the load. The load can sink upto 2A current. The battery will be charged with ~ 2A current.

I am also using a fuel gauge from Maxim Integrated (MAX17262). Datasheet can be found here. The circuit for BQ25303J was verified in this post.

1. Can you please verify the schematics for the protection and fuel gauge circuit?

2. What would be the best possible way to connect the power path in the application. Before or after the fuel gauge? As you can see from the Page 1 of the datasheet, the fuel gauge contains an integrated sense resistior through which the system is powered. This is the reason why the transistior is added after the fuelgauge to receive proper values of SOC during the charging cycle. Is this approach correct?

3. I need a overcurrent discharge protection of 2A. For this I have selected the CSD16406 mosfets and added a series resistance of 50 m ohm so as to match the requirement. 100mV/2A = 0.050 ohm. Is this approach suitable?

Thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Adarsh
