LM7481-Q1: Power management forum

Part Number: LM7481-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74800-Q1, LM74722-Q1

Hi Expert,

Our customer would like to use one pcs LM7481-Q1 to drive 6pcs parallel IAUC120N06S5N017 due to large current flow. Could you please help evaluate if this usage is applicable? If not, can we use two pcs LM7481-Q1 to drive 6 pcs IAUC120N06S5N017? What's your suggestion for driving 6pcs parallel IAUC120N06S5N017? Thanks.

BR,

Elec Cheng

  • Hi Elec Cheng,

LM74800-Q1 can drive 6x IAUC120N06S5N017 FETs in parallel but the Turn ON and Turn OFF times would be slower. I would recommend using LM74722-Q1 which has higher gate drive strength compared to that of LM74800-Q1 for high power applications.

  • Hi .,

e Turn ON and Turn OFF times would be slower.

How about the sequence ? Will they turn on one by one or at the same time? If they don't turn on at the same time, I an afraid the large current will flow through one MOSFET causing failure.

    LM74800-Q1 for high power applications.

I see it's preview on TI.com. What's the detailed schedule? Thanks.

    BR,

    Elec Cheng

  • Hi Elec,

When FETs are connected in parallel all the FETs SOURCEs, DRAINs and GATEs are shorted respectively. So, all the FETs will turn ON and Turn OFF at the same time.

LM74722-Q1 will be released to market by end of this month or early next month.
