BQ40Z50: overvoltage protection for the PACK pin

hi Team,

the bq40z50 PACK pin has the asb max voltage value at 30V

with the more common design of type C PD supporting 48V from the type C connector as a charging option to the battery pack.

customer wants to check if there is any recommendations from the pack design to protect against the possible higher voltage such as 48V input to the connector of the pack.

Hello John,

From my understanding the USB-C PD can negotiate a voltage and also it should not be directly applied to the battery pack, it would need to be directed to a charger IC first before the gauge so I'm not sure this is an applicable concern.
