I'd like to know if TI has any devices in the battery charger roadmap competitive with LT's L_T_C_4100. The closest we have to LT's device is our bq24610 minus the SMBus interface. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I don't think we have anything pin to pin compatible, but we have a wide range of battery chargers that can certainly meet almost any standard charging requirement. www.ti.com click on power management and then battery chargers has a nice battery charger selection tool. For higher end SMBus compatible chargers, you might consider the bq24707A or bq24725. Using the parametric search tool and clicking on "host controlled" will narrow your search to only the host controlled chargers. You can narrow the search from there.

Thank you for the prompt feedback. However, none of the two devices you mentioned are competitive to LT4100. So let me get a bit more specific:
-5V to 26Vin
-3.5V to 26V Out
-Up to 6 cells Lithium Ion
-SMBus Interface.
-Does NOT have to be pin-by-pin compatible.
Again, TI's bq24610 is our closest match except it does NOT have SMBus interface. So to reiterate the question, is TI planning on adding SMBus interface to bq2461x devices?
There are no existing plans to add SMbus control to the bq24610 product family. Can you elaborate on what makes them non-competitive?

It is non-competitive where SMB interface is required. Other than that the bq24610 is a fantastic part.
Hello,
We are using a BQ2060 to measure the charging of a NiMH battery pack of 12V. We are however stil looking for a controller IC like the LTC4100. I would like to communicate with the SMB protocol.
The solution would be Ideal if the battery pack of 12V could be charged with a input voltage of 12V. So with a internal buck converter.
