BQ769142: BQ769142 discharge current 2A-5A back and forth jump

Hi

The customer design with BQ769142, 8 series 60AH batteries are used. The voltage and current scales are both 10.

The log data as below. It is a process from charging 5A to discharging 3A. From the data, it can be seen that the current value during discharging jumps between 2A and 5A.

The current schematic as below:

During charge the current is normal. The discharge current jump from 2A-5A back and forth. Actually, there is no jump when measuring with a multimeter in series.

Please give some suggestions.

    Hey Star,

    Looking at your CC1 current readings, they seem stable. This leads me to believe that the CC2 is picking up fast noise on the line, which could be why there is a current jump.

    Can you make sure that the FASTADC bit is not set and see if that helps?

    Hi Star,

    The difference between CC2 and CC1 measurements is the filtering. The CC2 measurement is taken every 3 ms (every 1.5ms when FASTADC=1) and the CC1 measurement is averaged over 250ms. So there must be some noise at higher frequency that is affecting the reading.
