Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25143, LM5143
Hi ,
Can I use LM5143-Q1 for 3.3V @90A from 12V? If not ,Could you please suggest me automotive part for output:- 3.3V @ 90A from Vnominal : 12V(input).

Hi Kamaljit,
4phases at 90A is feasible with forced cooling. Take a look at the 5V/50A 2-phase apps example in the LM25143 datasheet.

Thanks Tim,
With 2 phase , what is the maximum current i should go for LM25143 or LM5143?
For high current ,there is tradeoff b/w switching frequency and mosfet power loss. To operate at higher switching rate , Could you please suggest me any other part number ?
Regards
Kamal
Hi Kamal,
This depends on the power stage components more than the controller. Also, the max ambient temperature of the application plus the availability of airflow or forced cooling have an impact.
30A/phase is about the practical max from a 12V input, hence the recommendation for 4 phases.
