AGND pin 14 is not required to be externally connected to AGND pin 8, there is an internal connection, but you can connect to externally to pin 8 agnd.
AGND pin 14 can externally connect to VSNS-.
Semantics, but in single-ended sensing, VSNS- must be connected to AGND pin 14, right?
For single ended, VSNS- pin 13 must be connected to AGND which can be pin 8 or pin 14. VSNS- is next to AGND pin 14 which will be the simpler connection.
Sorry to nitpick, but there's no good way to connect VSNS- pin 13 to AGND pin 8. TI should not even suggest that as an option, with the interest of protecting AGND from noise. VSNS- pin 13 must be connected to adjacent AGND pin 14. I was simply looking for confirmation of that statement for single-ended sensing applications.
