UCC21750QDWEVM-025: evaluation DESAT function

Part Number: UCC21750QDWEVM-025
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21750

Hello, TI

I want to evaluate DESAT operation of UCC21750 using EVM board.

In the userguide of UCC217xx Family, Part 2.2.3 Overcurrent and short circuit soft Turn OFF Test session(Page13), it is mentioned that "For UCC21750 there is no need to connect channel B (Ch.2) of function generator.:.

To evaluate DESAT operation,I thought, I should give voltage more than 9V (DESAT threshold), but it seems not according to userguide description.

I want to know why ther is no need to give function on pin DESAT.

Best regards,

  • Hi YoonJin,

Channel B (TP15 & TP21) is used to test the OC circuitry in other UCC217XX variants. If you want to evaluate the DESAT operation for UCC21750, you can feed in a voltage between TP7 (drain) and TP16 (COM), or directly between TP14 (DESAT pin) and TP16 (COM).

    Thanks,

    Vivian
