You might want to look at a module, such as the PTN78000H.

Or look at LMR51430 or LMR38010.  

Those are somewhat overkill, but they have good efficiency at light loads.

Those parts would work.  I've also been looking at the LMR50410.

Unfortunately none of the chips mentioned are available anywhere, and lead times are either very long or not published.  So how do I proceed with a new design?  I'm not designing what I want, I'm designing what I can get.

I'm in the US.  From my view, none of the parts are in stock at TI.com.  I've also searched all the US distributors and there are none in stock and no (or long) lead times given.

It shows no stock, and no date available.  

Is there any way to know what parts will be available in the near future?  I don't know how to proceed when even samples are hard to get.

It looks like we are getting two different results, even with the same link.

We will investigate why this is happening.

One way to find out when devices will be available is to click on the "notify me" button.

Also, if you have a TI field representative for your area, he or she may be able to help with samples.

Regarding the LMR51430, the engineer for that project has offered to send you some samples if that would help.
