Hello!

Is it possible using these ICs to make a solution that allows to setup protections and gas gauge for currents greater than 32767 mA and 32767 mAh? For example, now for this, I calibrate the current in half and get a range of up to 65534 mA maximum. But it looks like
this is not the right way, especially about SC protections, even if RSNS bit is used. Simply put - I want to get 200A constant current and greater, what Is correct way to build the sulution on this ICs, if possible?

Hi Alexander,

The sense resistor should be selected for the range of current for your application. The Detailed Design example section in the BQ76930 datasheet walks through the sense resistor value selection process.

For the BQ78350, you have a couple of options. You can load the BQ78350-R2 firmware onto an BQ78350-R1 device - the R2 has an IPSCALE feature which can scale the current by 10x or 100x. Or you can scale the current on the BQ78350-R1 (or R1A) by using the CC Gain and CC Capacity parameters as described in this presentation: /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/1300.6562.Gauge-Design-Configurations-for-High-Charge--Discharge-Rate-Applications.pdf
