UCC28019A: Input voltage frequency.

Hi team,

Does UCC28019A depend on the frequency of the input voltage for operation?
For example, is there a possible problem if the input voltage frequency is very low or very high?

Sincerely.
Kengo.

  • Hi Kengo,

    Thank you for the query.

Lower end of input frequency close to DC should not be a concern. But increasing the frequency would be possible upto the permissible iTHD% (vs bandwidth of the current loop) defined by the system specifications. For a system designed at 60Hz operating frequency, increasing the input frequency for the same power level the THD is going to increase and power factor will decrease. It should probably support higher input frequency upto 400hz but we do not have test data for this. Alternatively, you check UCC28180 CCM PFC controller.  Please let us know if you require any clarifications.

    Thank you
