Hello Bhupendra,
No, this is an older device that is not supported with our newer toolchain. I would not recommend this part for new designs, the BQ4050 should be used instead if possible and it is supported in bqStudio.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Thanks,
Since BQ4050 was running out of stock , we compelled to select BQ3050.....One more option is BQ3060 , correct ?
Any Provided Comparison between BQ3050 . BQ3060 and BQ4050 ?
Hello Bhupendra,
I understand, due to the age of these parts we cannot provide the same level of support for them since all those toolchains are no longer updated since we have changed to BQStudio, the older gauges use BQEVSW.
The parts are similar, the BQ4050 is the newest with the most recent firmware, so it has more features and better hardware. All 3 run the same algorithm, CEDV, so the setup should be similar.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Thanks Keller,
How can we figure out , which part is new updated one and which part / device is old one (NRND) ?
Does TI Mentions specifically on each devices webpage ?
Regards,
Hello Bhupendra,
These parts are not NRND yet, but our support for them is limited due to their age. We mostly keep these available for legacy systems that still use this part.
When we plan to start tapering the production the NRND will appear on the device webpage.
Generally if gauges are over the age of ~10 years, the support may be limited in what we can assist with since the tools are no longer upkept.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
Thanks Keller,
If I don`t See NRND on Product webpage (i.e. BQ3050 , shows ACTIVE ) , then what is checkpoint to see how much balance life cycle that product remain ?
Does TI maintain any such life cycle Document ? Something Like First.. Production lot date , Datasheet upload date on webpage...etc
Thanks,
Hello Bhupendra,
This is not related to how long the production will continue, for older parts I just wanted to inform you that we cannot provide the same level of support as compared to the newer parts due to limitations with the tools and the team.
This link may have the information you're looking for: https://www.ti.com/support-quality/quality-policies-procedures/product-life-cycle.html?keyMatch=NRND

Thanks Keller,
My point was , if Two product are mentioned as ACTIVE in same portfolio, How can i make sure that which one is older one ? From the date of Datasheet ?
Hope this clear my point...
Hello Bhupendra,
Yes the dates on the datasheet/TRM/EVM users guide will all be indicators of the parts age.
Sincerely,
Wyatt Keller
