LMG3422R030: How significant is slew rate in affecting switching loss?

Part Number: LMG3422R030

Hi all!

According to section 10.2.2.1:

How much will the switching loss change from 20V/ns to 150V/ns?

Thank you,

Cameron

  • Hi Cameron, the exact numbers for switching loss when comparing multiple slew rates will vary depending on topology, but as a reference, the trend is very much linear. A slew rate of 20V/ns will have double the switching losses when compared to 40V/ns and so on. We have multiple power loss calculators on our website which allow you to change single parameters such as slew rate and see how they affect the switching loss of your topology, I have included one below for a CCM Boost PFC.

    Hope this helps,
