[FAQ] TLC77: Looking for newer version of TLC77

Part Number: TLC77
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV840

Hello,

Does TI offer a newer alternative to the TLC77? Is there a recommended circuit or implementation?

Thank you.

  • Hello Masoud,

I believe a circuit like this using the TLV840 would replace the functionality of the TLC77. The TLV840 has an active low manual reset that would act as the “/RESIN” pin. A pull down resistor, inverter, and NAND gate are needed to add the active high RESET output and “CONTROL” function. Buffers may be needed on the /RESET output so that /RESET and RESET switch at the same time. This additional logic will also add some delay on top of the minimum delay time of the TLV840.

    Best,
    Walter
