EM1402EVM: Using only two EMB1428Q in 16 cell battery

In EM1402EVM for 16 cell it's used 3 EMB1499, everyone drive his Polarity Bus Selection.

I read in a post that "3)Unfortunately, I do not think this is possible [balance multiple cells simultaneously]. There is communication between the EMB1428 and EMB1499. It is likely that there will be faults if you try to have multiple EMB1428 communicate to a single EMB1499. I have seen multiple cells balanced at once, but it requires an extra DC-DC.".

Then Could I use only two EMB1499Q for a 16 cell battery (LiFePo cell, 60V max)?

One EMB1499Q with 7 cells and the Polarity Bus Selection, the other one with 9 cells. All mos of odd cells connected and all mos of even cells connectet
