BQ25306: LED not turn off after removing the adapter (charger with powerpath)

Hi,

I want to ask about the STAT pin which doesn't change (indicating LED still turn ON) after adapter 12V is removed. But the load is still active.

For turning it OFF i disconnected the Load so the LED turns OFF. Is there something wrong with the design ?

I think in normal operation, when the 12V adapter is removed the STAT pin changes (LED turns OFF) for indicating it's not charging although the battery is still loaded.

Note : 12V comes from USB power delivery.

Hi Aji,

I reviewed the schematic, it looks okay. The STAT pin is an open drain output, you'll need to add a pull-up resistor to REGN in order to see the STAT pin changing to report charging status or faults.

Hi Arelis,

I have added it into my circuit, such resistor and LED connecting to the STAT pin. But i just wonder why it wouldn't turn off when adapter is disconnected

Hi Aji,

What do you mean it's not turning off when adapter is disconnected? Can you provide a scope capture with VBUS, BAT, REGN and STAT pins while plugging and unplugging the adapter?
