BQ24616: Question about safety timer

Hello team,

My customer asked me using C_ttc with 0.22uF on the TCC pin.

Is it okay to use 0.22uF?

According to datasheet, maximum t_charge is 10h, which means C_ttc should be less than 0.11uF. So, in my understanding, 0.22uF should not be used, but why cannot be used for some reason or problem?

Hi Austin,

The accuracy for the safety timer is specified when the TTC capacitor is between 0.01 uF and 0.11 uF, so we specify staying in that range to keep to the accuracy given.

You mean that the range is for accuracy, so the customer can use more larger cap if they do not care accuracy?

We have not tested outside of that range and cannot guarantee the performance.
