Hello Team,

First , I am Very new to BMS World.

Not Sure whether to use GPCCEDV Or not.

Doc : https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluub45b/sluub45b.pdf not Helping much.

Battery Config : 2p4S

Cell : 3450mAh (18650 - NCR18650GA) Panasonic

BAT Pack : 6900mAh

Can anybody help me with Gauging data ?

BQ3050EVM-001 has in built firmware data (.SENC / gg) , can I use that for gauging ?

Hello Bhupendra,

GPCCEDV is good for rarely discharged applications, LFP batteries, and lower accuracy solutions over time.

The guide you linked walks through how to submit the data to the GPCCEDV tool, this tool calculates the coefficients needed for the CEDV algorithm to work properly. It also gives you the voltage information for initial wakeup accuracy (the OCV table).

The other option for gauging algorithm is Impedance Track which will give you higher accuracy for most applications, but has more requirements and takes a little longer to setup, since you will need to use the GPCCHEM tool and then do a learning cycle.

I am not able to understand the parameter which is mentioned into the Doc.

Any Exemplary document will be helpful.

Is it possible to use GPCCHEM tool for BQ3050 device ? I think it is for Impedance track method ?

Hello Bhupendra,

Can you clarify your specific questions? If the guide is followed you will receive the data you need in order to setup a CEDV gauge.

You cannot use the GPCCHEM tool for a CEDV gauge, the GPCCHEM tool is designed for Impedance Track gauges. The BQ3050 is a CEDV gauge.

Hello Keller,

As mentioned into this Doc : https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluub45b/sluub45b.pdf , Recorded CSV file generated by BQstudio , but seems BQ3050 is not supported by BQStudio. Any other options to create it ?

Any available Video training for : GPCCEDV ?

Hello Bhupendra,

Any logging device can be used as long as it has enough resolution, it does not need to be used with BQStudio.

The best documentation on the CEDV algorithm is in the TRM which describes the different parameters used. CEDV is basically a voltage adjusted coulomb counter so there is not a lot of documentation on it's operation. Hello Bhupendra,

The values for FltMaxSOC% and FltMinSOC% are usually fine for most applications. They should be around the voltage knee which is usually around the default settings, and the LearnSOC% should be set to the same value as the Battery Low% in the gauge. Learn SOC% should always be within the FltMaxSOC% and FltMinSOC%.

OK...I have run charge / discharge cycle and logged data into .log file using BQEVSW software (with Keep scanning feature ).

Opening Log file into notepad shows column mismatch.

Can we open log file into BQEVSW ?

Hello Bhupendra,

I'm not sure I understand, the log should be a common separated file you can change the extension to .csv and it should open easily. You can use any software you're familiar with to view the data.
