TPS25981: Use in automotive application

Part Number: TPS25981
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25940-Q1, TPS4811-Q1

Hi!
I am a member of a Formula SAE team and we are trying to design a custom Smart Power Distribution Fuse board. We found the TPS259814ARPWR and it checks all of the design wants we have, current monitoring, soft start, transient timer, auto retry, adjustable rise time, high nominal current limit (10A) and the most important one in todays world, it is currently in stock. The only issue is that it is a non-automotive component. I am aware of the greater certification for automotive components and what it entails, but we were wondering if this component would be not recommended for automotive designs, or if it just did not have the qualification. If there was an option that was automotive we would take it, but in order to get all the features with different components, we would have to do discrete implementations which could arguably introduce the same amount or more risk of failure or sub optimal performance than the aforementioned component.
Thank you!
