TPS51217: Controller frequency

Can this DCDC controller work at a constant frequency, can we force the frequency in PWM mode?

One customer is planning to use this in automotive and has concerns for AM radio. I didnt come across any section in the data sheet that talks about forcing the switching frequency.

Any suggestions?

The TPS51218 allows forced CCM operation. It is pin for pin compatible with the TPS51217.

Is there any way to fix the frequency in TPS51217 by any external mods on the part?

I ask this because this IP is integrated in our IC and we are trying to see if we can have any external forced solution for this problem.

I'm not sure. Nancy would have to address this more detailed question as she is the apps engineer. I just used the TPS51218 in the past.

Hi,

TPS51217 could not do the forced CCM mode and it automatically reduces frequency at light load conditions to maintain high efficiency.
