TPS2044: TPS2044A/TPS2044B Differences

Part Number: TPS2044

What are the main differences between the 3 versions of the TPS2044 family of chips (TPS2044/TPS2044A/TPS2044B)?

They seem to all be for the same purpose and have similar specs.  Is there a reason why a TPS2044A would not work where a TPS2044B would?

I'm primarily asking because I'm looking for alternate options due to chip shortages.  I designed and tested with the B version, but like many (many) TI parts, it's impossible to find right now.

Thanks

  • Hi Adam,

These three device are the old device, and the TPS2044B is the newest one among them, and I do not have a detail difference between them, but  I check their datasheet, and summary some point just like below show, hope it will help for you:

    1.High-side MOSFET switch resistance are different, TPS2044:135mohm, TPS2044A:80mohm, TPS2044B:70mohm.

2.TPS2044B has a more short typical rise time. about 0.6ms, the other is 2.5 ms.

3.TPS2044B has a smaller 'Max standby supply current', about 2uA, the other is 20uA.

    4.Ambient temperature range are different, TPS2044 and TPS2044B are -40℃~85℃, but TPS2044A is  0℃~85℃.

5.TPS2044B use a only one charge pump, and TPS2044A and TPS2044 use about four charge pump, so TPS2044B may be cheaper.

    Best Regards,
