UCC25702: SYNC pin inquiry

Part Number: UCC25702

Hello Team,

My customer is using this device for switching power supply applications. Synchronization is not used. Can they ground this pin to eliminate any possible pick-up? Can you share with us the suggested termination for the unused SYNC pin?

Regards,

Renan

  • Renan,

There is an internal 3 μA current source connected between SYNC and internal substrate GND. It should be no problem to connect the SYNC pin to GND but it's also not necessary either. In fact if the external GND connection to SYNC is not "clean", you could potentially be introducing GND noise to an otherwise "happy" unused SYNC pin. If it were me, I would opt to leave it open and rely on the internal current source to hold it LOW. Thanks for connecting through E2E.

    Regards,
