BQ34Z100: Low temperature issue

Part Number: BQ34Z100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCRB, BQSTUDIO

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

The customer is trying to make a 8s project, cell: 6.8Ah. Both the current and capacity are scaled by a factor of 4. For low temperature data collection at -40°C, the gauge only shows -30.7°C.

NTC uses 10k with 1% error and B value is 3435. The customer has tried to correct the temperature at normal temperature and the error is very small. Also they've made low temperature compensation with GPCRB tool (the actual temperature collected at low temperature -40°C was -30.7°C). When verifying at normal temperature/low temperature, the SOC jumped from 9% to 0%, and the charge jumped from 0% to 8%.

So the customer would like to know why's that and how to fix it. Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
