UCC21750QDWEVM-025: Does UCC21750 sink mosfet allow 30A current?

Part Number: UCC21750QDWEVM-025
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21750

In this EVM, the turn off resistor is 0.4 ohm and the intern pull-down resistor is 0.3 ohm. In my test, VDD-VEE>22V provided by SN6505 and transformer. The peak sink current can be over 30A in this situation, is it dangerous for 10A UCC21750?

  • Hello Jass,

The maximum source/sink current for UCC21750 would be 10A, thus it would not go up to 30A. You can see the calculation on this page of the datasheet

We recommend using gate resistors to control the turn on/off speed as well as to help with mitigating the transient noise.
