BQ24210: Photovoltaic panel selection for the BQ24210

Need your advice if the BQ24210 is suitable for the photovoltaic panels listed below:

1. Voltaic 6 Watt 6 Volt Solar Panel

2. Voltaic 9 Watt 6 Volt Solar Panel

Hi Aravind,

The BQ24210 max operating input voltage is 7V and max charge current is 800mA. If the open circuit voltage is > 7V, the device will be in OVP and charge will be suspended. You might want to look for panels that has <7V open circuit voltage.

If I were to use the BQ24074 instead of BQ2410 then the OVP would be addressed right?

Hi Aravind,

Yes the BQ2074 provides an adequate operating input voltage range for the provided solar panels.
