LM74700-Q1: LM74700 for high output voltage

I have a switch power that outputs 54V/14.8A

I used the LM74700 Ideal Diode Controller because it needs to be used in parallel, but I have a question about ovp

OVP protection specification is as follows

1:latch

2:125% (min) output V

If I Set 125% output V so that the LM74700 ANODE pin voltage will exceed 65V max

Do you have any suggestions to solve the OVP problem?

    LM74700-Q1 cannot provide protection against OV because ot cannot drive back to back FETs to provide disconnect between the source and the load. LM74800-Q1 and LM74502 on the other hand can provide OV protection. These devices can be used alongwith a zener diode at the input to protect against overvoltage events. For more details on protection against high voltage transients, please refer to the surge stopper section of the application section of LM74502 datasheet.

    Sorry I may have forgotten to mention, I want to use oring-MOS driver in the circuit

    LM74502 doesn't seem to work, do you have any other suggestions?

    The gate drive current needs to be the same as or close to the LM74700

  • Hi,

    For higher gate drive strength, you can refer to LM4502H. It has 11mA peak gate source capacity. The sink capability is 2.37A. Please let me know if this is suitable.
