Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01, BQ25792, , BQ25750
Hi Team,
Our customer can’t confirm pass-through mode at USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01.
Therefore, they also consider "Case2_without pass-through" apart from “Case1_with pass-through" for their prototype board
We have two questions.
-----
[Q1]
We use Battery Charger Configuration of Application_Customization_Tool ver7.0.3.
Then, Battery charger is BQ25792.
I understand that BQ25792 registers that are changed are only the contents of the following items(<My understanding>).
So, other registers are left unchanged from their default values.
Is my understanding correct?
If no, could you please let us know all the affected BQ25792 registers.
<Background>
I'm worried about any other registers being changed by the tool other than the above items.
Because, set the combination of TPS25750x and BQ on the tool.
Then, I'm concerned that other BQ25792 register settings may have changed as well.
<My understanding>
-Battery charging voltage=> 1h REG01_Charge_Voltage_Limit Charge Voltage Limit Section 9.5.1.2
-Battery charging current=> 3h REG03_Charge_Current_Limit Charge Current Limit
-Charge termination current => 8h REG08_Precharge_Control Precharge Control
-Pre-charge current => 9h REG09_Termination_Control Termination Control

[Q2]
I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of "Case1" and "Case2".
I guess that only the load on the MCU is different, and there is no other effect.
Could you please let us know if you have any concern?
<For example, Case2 disadvantage:>
It is necessary to manually set BQ25792 register related to the combination of TPS25750 and BQ25792 that can be set by the tool etc.

Advantage |
Disadvantage |
Case1 |
-Load of MCU is light |
-xxx |
Case2 |
-xxx |
-Load of MCU is heavy |
