TPS25923: Whether can use this efuse to protect TLV62595

Dear Team,

Hope you are doing well.

I got a question from the customer during the use of TPS25923.

The typical overvoltage clamp of TPS25923 is 6.1V and can reach to the max value of 6.75V. The datasheet is shown as figure below.

The buck converter the customer used is TLV62595, which has the maximum input voltage value at 6V. The datasheet is shown as figure below.

Could the buck converter be protected by the efuse TPS25923?

Does This efuse protect the circuit through both current and voltage?

Hi Xenon,

Yes this efuse limits both voltage and current. Only concern is from the fact that eFuse max clamp is above bucks max input.

Please have a look at new generation TPS2597 part. It has both OVC and OVLO variant. It has tighter max clamp spec.

The overvoltage clamp of TPS25923 is too large to protect the TLV62695 right?

The new product TPS2597 is more suitable for protecting the TPS62595 since it has tighter max clamp at 6.12V?
