BQ40Z50-R1: Clock Stretch

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50

Hello Sir:

Does BQ40z50-R1 support clock stretch function?

Does datasheet or TRM have descriptions?

Please help to provide your recommendations for us.

Thanks a lot.

  • Hi,

The BQ40Z50 does utilize clock stretching but there is not any descriptions of this in the TRM or datasheet. Essentially, if the host sends a command but the gauge is in a low power state and needs time to wake, instead of NACKing the gauge will pull the I2C lines low until it is ready. However, this is automatically handled internally by the gauge so there is usually no configuration necessary.

    Best Regards,

    Jackson
