TPS563231: TPS563231 Input and Output Limit

Part Number: TPS563231

Hi Team,

I am curious about the input voltage and output voltage of TPS563231;

Why the device cannot work if it exceeds input range 4.5 ~ 17V range ?

Why can only output a voltage of 0.6 ~ 7V? If the feedback of the regulation is not in this range, what will happen?

When input voltage is 17V. and the max duty cycle is 87%, it can output 13.28V, right?

  • Hi Kevin

    The input voltage is based on the power FET within the converter. If the input voltage is over 17V, there is a damage risk here, and when the input voltage is below 4.5V, the converter won't start up normally.

    The output voltage range is according to the voltage reference and the control topology. The min output voltage is equal to the voltage reference and the max output voltage range is limited due to the DCAP control.

    No, it cannot output voltage over 7V.

    Hope this helps.

    BR
